To support you during surgery and beyond, we have assembled a dream team of providers who bring clinical expertise, compassion and guidance. Led by a nurse navigator, this expanded care team includes registered dietitians, physical therapists and behavioral health specialists who can answer questions and guide you on the path to wellness.


Types of Support

Your Digestive Health Institute hernia support team includes:

  • Nurse navigators. Our nurse navigators streamline your entire experience with us, coordinating your appointments, helping you navigate the healthcare system, providing valuable educational and emotional support, and answering questions.
  • Physical therapists. Our therapy team teaches exercises and ways of movement to help you avoid pain after surgery and restore essential core abdominal strength.
  • Behavioral health resources. Mental health is as important as physical health and the behavioral health specialists on our team can intervene with suggestions to improve your emotional well-being through cognitive behavioral therapy, clinical hypnosis, relaxation and biofeedback training, acceptance and commitment therapy and/or coping support.
  • Registered dietitians. Our registered dietitians have a vast knowledge of different digestive health disorders and can work with you to create a personalized eating plan that can keep you healthy.
